Worker Chic

Worker Chic

A women's edit of chore jackets, cargo pants, carpenter pants and utility dresses in olive, khaki and washed denim. Built for anyone who wants rugged, roomy pieces that wear well every day.

Worker chic is the idea that the best clothes on your rack started life on a job site: canvas jackets, cargo pockets, carpenter legs, sturdy twill. I like it because nothing about it asks for effort. You pull on a pair of pants with real pockets and you are dressed.

My starting point is a jacket with some weight, like the Carhartt WIP Active Jacket, the Madewell field jacket or the MW chore jacket in a wool blend. Then I pick the pants: AMO's Colette cargos, the Leset Jamie carpenter pant or Pistola's corduroy cargos all hold their shape and look best a little slouchy over flat boots or clean sneakers. A plain white tee under any of them is enough. If I want something softer, the Greyson Ashe cargo pant or a Z Supply suede chore jacket keeps the utility feel with a gentler hand.
