Soft Anarchy

Soft Anarchy

Punk-inspired layers in leather, latex and dark knits with a deliberately messy edge. It is for anyone who wants to look undone and still pulled together.

Soft anarchy is what I call dressing a little undone on purpose: leather that has been slept in, a top that sits slightly off the shoulder and boots that have clearly walked somewhere. I start with a jacket that carries the whole look. The Frankie Shop quilted bomber and the ALLSAINTS Sadler leather jacket both work over a plain tee, and the LE BOP exaggerated-sleeve jacket gives you the same attitude in a softer shape.

Underneath I like something fitted, like the AEXAE ruched leather top or a SIMKHAI draped black top, then a Miaou lace-up pant or leather mini skirt to roughen it up. Finish with boots, such as the Dolce Vita Cruz bootie. The rule I follow is one shiny piece, one matte piece and one thing that looks slightly wrong, like a mismatched sleeve or a loose strap.
