Shop Responsibly: Luxury

A luxury edit of boots, bags and tailoring chosen to be worn for years. Made for anyone who would rather own fewer, better things.

Buying luxury responsibly starts with a simple question: will I still reach for this in five years. I look for pieces that are cut well, made from real leather, suede or wool, and quiet enough that they never go out of rotation. A pair of Gianvito Rossi knee boots or the Aeyde Medea does more for an outfit than a whole rack of trend pieces, and a good boot can be resoled for a decade. I went deeper on a related idea in Summer Shop: Luxury Pieces and Bright Colors in One Place.

For bags I keep going back to The Row Park tote and the Saint Laurent Le 37 bucket, both roomy enough for a real day. Toteme's T-Lock is the one I would pick if I could own only a small bag. Then add the tailoring: a TWP blazer or Nili Lotan's Elio shirt over straight jeans looks sharp on a Monday and still right on a Saturday. Buy the piece you already know how you will wear.
