Outfit Architecture

Outfit Architecture

A Meshki edit about building outfits in layers, from wide leg pants and long skirts to blazers, shirts and sheer capes. Keep the palette close and let the shapes make the statement.

I think about an outfit the way an architect thinks about a building: start with the frame, then add the layers that give it shape. For me the frame is a pair of wide leg pants or a long skirt in ivory, taupe or charcoal, and Meshki makes plenty of both. The Jacqueline pleated pants and the Gabby linen pair are the ones I would start with.

On top, I stack. A Meshki Bellamy blazer in ivory over the Rhia oversized shirt gives you two collars and a clean line, and the Wesley blazer in charcoal does the same with more edge. For a softer layer, the sheer Ida cape over a plain tank looks careful without being fussy. Finish with one detail, like the Marna hoops or the croc gloves, and keep the colors close so the shapes do the talking.
