Only Hearts is the New York lingerie label that started as a boutique full of heart-shaped finds. I love its idea that pretty underthings can come out and join the outfit.

Only Hearts Lingerie: The Pieces Worth a Look
The shop full of hearts
I am a sucker for a brand that begins with a shop instead of a runway, and Only Hearts does. In 1978 Helena Stuart opened a boutique on Columbus Avenue in New York devoted to heart-shaped finds, everything from vintage lockets to corsets. That mix of sweet and a little sensual is still the signature, and it grew into lingerie that does not need to stay hidden.
Helena calls the idea Inner Outerwear, which means undergarment dressing made to be seen, and her own about page lays it out. She now works with her daughter Kaya, and the range moves between lingerie, sleepwear, lounge pieces and clothes that go anywhere. A camisole here is not just for the bedroom. A lace edge, a soft fabric or a slip can sit inside an outfit or become the outfit.
There is a real thread in the material too. Helena developed the signature Delicious fabric in the early 1990s, and the pieces are made in New York City in small batches. I like that mix of flirtation and practical intention.

Tops that step out from underneath
Only Hearts makes a case for an intimate top that can meet the rest of the day. I gravitate to the Whisper Sweet Nothings Coucou Bodysuit and So Fine Lace Cami Lined Cup Bra when I want a delicate lace layer to peek out at a neckline, while the Afternoon Delight Ruched Cardi Top takes that softness toward a real going-out top. The Inner Outerwear idea gives them permission to move between private and public instead of being saved for a drawer.
Picture her in the bodysuit under a sharp blazer and the cardi top with high-rise trousers. My rule is one visible lace edge, with the rest of the outfit kept calm. A heavy necklace or a second sheer layer only crowds those delicate straps.

Lingerie for slow mornings and later plans
The softer side of Only Hearts is where sleepwear and lingerie start sharing a closet. The Emily's Garden Gabrielle Mini Slip and Delicious With Lace Lily Half Slip both carry the romance of a slip, and the Ruffle Thong adds a smaller, playful detail. I like that Delicious has a history here, since Helena developed the fabric in the early 1990s and the name still says a lot about the brand.
In my fashion dreams, she pulls a light shirt over the Gabrielle Mini Slip on a slow morning, then keeps the Lily Half Slip as a quiet layer under a skirt. My tip is to decide whether the lingerie is staying private or joining the outfit, then build the layers around that choice.

From lace layers to dresses and knits
This group makes Only Hearts feel less like a drawer of intimates and more like a way of dressing. The Lace Babydoll and Delicious With Lace Chemise keep the softer side close, and the Liv Mini Dress brings the mood into a short dress. I also like the Mesh Cardigan as a lighter layer when a camisole needs a little framing.
Picture her in the chemise with a long cardigan for an evening at home, then in the mini dress with flat sandals for an informal dinner. When sheer fabric is part of the look, I would keep the base layer close in tone and let the texture carry the interest. What I would skip is a bold print on top, which makes the whole thing feel busy. If you want to keep going, Noon & Moon Home Decor: Pieces Worth a Look is the one I would read next. I went deeper on a related idea in Aniye Records Tops: The Pieces Worth a Look.
Pieces for the slower hours
These pieces stretch the edit from lingerie and dresses into the hours around getting dressed. Lucia Lace is a clear thread through the Lucia Lace Underwire Bra, while the Silk Antoinette Bikini and Stretch Lace French Bikini add variety in cut. The Whisper V-Band Bralette, Eco Rib Band Bralette and Whisper Corset Cami give a few different ways to layer.
When I want the day to lean toward lounge, I would look at the Velvet Underground Short Shorts or Salon Pants with the Velvet Underground xo Cami, and the Velvet Underground Selma Gown goes the same direction in a longer length. The Lazy Mayzie Button Down, Organic Cotton Joggers and Sanibel Shorts are what I would reach for on a slow morning. The Feather Weight Rib Long Sleeve Wrap, Metallic Jersey Flared Cami, So Fine Short Sleeve Crop, Eco Rib Turtle Neck Top and Coucou Lola Peplum Top are the tops for a simple bottom.
Choose the underlayer before the outer layer when a lace edge is meant to show. What I would skip is forcing a delicate lace piece under a busy top. Let one texture do the work.

The heart of Inner Outerwear
I keep coming back to the permission at the center of Only Hearts: lingerie can be lovely for the person wearing it and still be part of how she dresses for everyone else. Helena Stuart's small New York boutique grew into a family-run label of lingerie, sleepwear and layers made to be seen. If I started with one idea from this edit, it would be to let a soft detail show in daylight, whether that is lace at a neckline or a slip worn on its own. Although the lace usually wins.
