Katie Grand Style: Winter Layers, Statement Bags and Evening Dressing

A fall and winter edit drawn from Katie Grand's editorial work, campaign collaborations and signature mix of layers.

Katie Grand's career spans Love, Perfect, campaigns and runway shows. Shop winter coats, knitwear, bags, boots and evening pieces.

From Dazed to LOVE and Perfect

Katie Grand is a British stylist and fashion journalist who helped launch Dazed & Confused as its fashion director and became fashion director of The Face. She later launched Pop, founded LOVE with Condé Nast in February 2009, and stepped down as its editor in chief in September 2020.

Grand launched Perfect as a magazine and creative agency in 2020. Her work also includes her first Louis Vuitton campaign for Spring/Summer 2003, and in 2022 she received the British Fashion Council's Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

How her editorial eye becomes a winter wardrobe

Grand's work moves from campaigns and runway shows to collaborative design. Vogue credits her as stylist and art director for Balmain's Fall 2014 campaign, another Vogue story covers her Hogan capsule, and British Vogue records the limited-edition LOVE Le Pliage bag created by Longchamp for her magazine vision.

That range is the starting point for this edit: a precise coat, a textured knit, a carryall bag and an evening silhouette. Rather than copy one photograph, I would use shape, material and an unexpected pairing to make each look feel personal.

Where I would start with Katie Grand's style

Start with a sculpted coat and one graphic knit, then carry the look through the day with a roomier bag. For evening, switch into a printed dress and let the shoes do the finishing. The point is contrast between a strong silhouette and something playful.
