Jillian Dempsey Makeup: The Finger-Friendly Color Products to Shop

A makeup artist's approach to complexion, eyes and color, in the finger-friendly line she built for quick routines.

Shop Jillian Dempsey makeup, from Spot Stick complexion shades and Lid Tint to Khôl liners, Cheek Tint, lip gloss and artist-built tools.

The Jillian Dempsey makeup line comes from decades behind the brush

Jillian Dempsey has worked as a makeup artist for three decades, and her red-carpet clients have included Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst and Leslie Mann. Before her namesake line, she built Delux Beauty and became Avon's first global creative color director in 2006.

Her own site calls the line finger-friendly and fuss-free, and says her skin-enhancing techniques aim for a natural, radiant glow. That makes complexion the place I would start, with a shade-specific Spot Stick before adding color at the eyes, cheeks and lips.

Jillian Dempsey's signature color looks start with a short list

The Cut traces the line from its first Khôl Eye Liners to Lid Tints, Cheek Tints and the Gold Sculpting Bar. Dempsey told the magazine she chose makeup because she liked painting faces, and described her quick routine as "lazy girl makeup."

She also introduced the Fyfe app in 2020, bringing more than 250 video tutorials from red-carpet makeup artists and hairstylists to viewers. Beauty Independent names Emilia Clarke, Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence among her celebrity clients, and that blend of studio work and artist-led product thinking is why I would shop her own range first.

Where I would start with Jillian Dempsey makeup

I would begin with a Lid Tint in a shade you reach for often and the Rich Brown Khôl Eyeliner she called a favorite. Dempsey's hand-applied, color-first point of view makes two pieces feel like a finished routine. Keep the rest of the face simple and let the eyes do the work.
