Denim, plaid, soft knits and gold chains that look lived in from the first wear. For anyone who likes clothes with a past.

Heritage to me means pieces that already look like they have a story. I go for denim that has softened, plaid that looks borrowed from someone you love, a sweatshirt that has been washed a hundred times, and a little gold on top. The Essentiel Antwerp plaid shirt with the scarf attached is my favorite way to wear a classic check, and the Nili Lotan Elio shirt in rustic check is the sharper version.

 

For layers, Madewell's field jacket and the Pistola trucker both look better the more you wear them, and FRAME's Ritz sweatshirt in brown is great with straight jeans. Then add a Lacey Ryan necklace or a plain gold chain to finish. Roll the sleeves, leave the shirt untucked and nothing needs to look new.
