Gucci Westman makeup products: a second-skin point of view

Gucci Westman makeup starts with a second-skin complexion, the soft, lit-from-within finish she has made her signature. The New York-based makeup artist co-founded Westman Atelier in 2018 after more than two decades working in beauty.

 

Her work includes Vogue, W and Harper’s Bazaar, with clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. Before building her own line, Westman was Lancôme’s international artistic director from 2003 to 2007 and Revlon’s global artistic director from 2008 to 2015.

Her eye products lean toward softly defined shadow, with Eye Pods trios, mascara, liner and brow pencils rather than one dramatic statement. Westman’s Vogue breakthrough came after Grace Coddington brought her into the magazine’s orbit around 2000 or 2001, and she later worked on the December 2003 Alice in Wonderland story with Natalia Vodianova.

 

On lips, HydroBalm is a sheer tinted lipstick with a balm-like feel, while Lip Suede and Lip Shape offer matte color and pencil definition. In a 2026 interview, Westman described wanting makeup she enjoys wearing and that lets her look like herself, which is the spirit I want to keep while adding just one more layer.
