Not your everyday heels, but wedges, sculpted mules and flower and heart details with a touch of fun. For anyone who wants her shoes to be the outfit.

Funky heels are for the days when I want my shoes to start the conversation. I look for one odd detail, like a sculpted wedge, a heart for a heel or a flower sitting on the strap, and then keep the rest of the outfit quiet.

 

Yume Yume's heart heel is the most fun pair here, and Alameda Turquesa's pink flower pump is the one I would wear with a plain slip dress. Paris Texas does the wedge with a long ankle wrap, and Jeffrey Campbell's red Vader mule has a blade shape that looks great with straight jeans. For something more grown up, NIIHAI's strappy Lock Up heel and Cult Gaia's gold twist sandal both work with a black dress. Try them with a bare ankle or a thin white sock.
