Dark Mode

An industrial-leaning capsule of charcoal and ink-dark knits, coats, bags and shoes for people who live in dark shades. It is about texture, not color.

Dark Mode is the edit for anyone whose closet is mostly black and charcoal and has no plans to change. The trick is texture, because when the color stays the same the fabric does the talking. I like a ribbed turtleneck like the ALC Archie cashmere one with leather trousers, or a soft LISA YANG cashmere crew over a plain black skirt.

 

For outerwear I'd look at the Favorite Daughter charcoal houndstooth coat, which adds just enough pattern, or the long faux fur coat from Stand Studio when you want something with weight. Keep the bag in the same family, like the ALC faux fur one, and let a pointed black mule finish the outfit. If everything is dark, vary the finishes: matte wool, glossy leather, a little fuzz.
