Left On Friday: Swim, Tops and Dresses by Two Lululemon Veterans
Laura Low Ah Kee and Shannon Savage, both longtime Lululemon product executives, launched Left On Friday out of Victoria, Canada and Venice, California in May 2018 after a hot-tub conversation about the lack of swimwear built to actually move in. They developed a proprietary Italian fabric, later expanding from swim into wider activewear, and went on to design uniforms for Canada's national beach volleyball team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The label runs on bold, illustrative prints and retro-leaning silhouettes made locally by small family workshops in Cali, often to order rather than in bulk.
Juillet Swimwear: Broderie Anglaise Bikinis and One-Pieces
Juillet Swimwear was co-founded by Whitney Wilkerson and Lindsay Rae Hofmann in Los Angeles in September 2017, after Hofmann's earlier work in brand consulting and celebrity dressing. The label has stayed narrow on purpose, contemporary swimwear cut with the kind of finishing usually reserved for eveningwear, which is presumably why it turns up on January Jones, Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid rather than only in beach photos.
