Between Seasons

Between Seasons

Light cardigans, midi skirts, wide-leg jeans and clogs for the weeks when winter turns into spring. Layer up in the morning and peel down by lunch.

Between seasons is the stretch when the morning needs a cardigan and the afternoon does not, so I dress in pieces that come off easily. A light knit is the anchor. I reach for a pale blue Majorelle cardigan over a white tank, or the Dôen Petra cardigan when I want something cream and soft, and I keep a red Reformation cardigan for days that need color. I went deeper on a related idea in Coat or Jacket for Between Seasons: Choose by Coverage. I went deeper on a related idea in The Between-Seasons Layer.

For the bottom half I switch to a corduroy midi from LE BOP or a pleated knit skirt from STAUD, which feel like winter fabrics cut for spring. Shoes are where the season shifts most. Suede clogs with socks handle the cold mornings, and a kitten-heel mule takes over when the sun comes out. Wide-leg jeans from Paige work with all of it.
