Baggy Denim

Baggy Denim

Baggy, lived-in men's denim in light washes and darker faded blues, from skate-ready wide legs to relaxed carpenter cuts. A guide to jeans that fall loose and long.

Baggy denim for guys is really about how the leg falls: loose through the thigh, wide at the hem, and long enough to break over your shoes. I like a light wash for summer and a faded dark one for fall, and I wear both with a plain white tee and sneakers. The easiest place to start is American Eagle's ultra baggy jean or the H&M Houston loose jean, both in a pale blue that looks lived in from day one. I went deeper on a related idea in Hailey Bieber Gap Jeans And The Baggy Denim Rule.

If you want more attitude, the Elwood baggy pant in washed black has a rounded, skate-ready shape, and the Levi's 578 and FRAME baggy jeans give you that long stacked break. Rhude and MM6 Maison Margiela go wider and darker for nights out, while Our Legacy and Stockholm Surfboard Club keep a relaxed, sun-faded look. Try sizing up a little and let the hem sit on the shoe.
