All That Remains

All That Remains is the Australian label of founder Leaha Lockley, who draws on the natural landscapes of Sydney's northern beaches and works slowly, releasing small runs of what she calls forever pieces. Her clothes are handcrafted with family run, ethically certified ateliers in Indonesia and India, with hand painted batiks, handmade crochet and hand cut lace in natural fabrics like ramie, linen and gauze. This edit gathers her lace and crochet dresses, tops and easy trousers for warm days and long summer nights.

Lace and crochet dresses

What I like most about All That Remains is that it refuses the fashion calendar. Leaha Lockley releases small batches when they are ready rather than chasing seasons, and the dresses in this grid feel that unhurried. Fringed lace aprons, crochet maxis, cotton lace minis and bias silk slips all look like they were made by hand, because they were. A white lace mini with flat sandals is the most useful vacation dress I own. What I would skip is heavy jewelry; the lace is the decoration.

Tops and crochet knits

The tops carry the same handwork in smaller doses. Beaded strapless bandeaus, crochet tanks, twist tops, a silk camisole and a crochet vest are easy to pair with denim at home and with the matching trousers on a trip. My test for crochet is to hold it up to the light and check the stitches are even and tight, and these pass.

Trousers, skirts and shorts

Wide leg lace pants, crochet trousers, silk pants, a bamboo print skirt and soft shorts complete the sets. Wear a top and bottom from the same print and it reads like a dress, or split them and wear each with something plain.

How I would wear it

Start with one lace dress and one crochet set, and pack them for every warm weekend.
