Alex White Stylist: Winter Layers and Personal Jewelry

A fall edit built from statement outerwear, textured knits and characterful jewelry.

Alex White's style starts with character

Alex White's point of view is built around personality and contrast. In Tiffany's Style Sessions, she described her style as about breaking the rules, with an emphasis on individuality, mixing pieces and different ways of wearing jewelry.

Her career spans more than three decades. After beginning at Harpers & Queen in London in the early 1990s, she spent 16 years at W Magazine, including 10 as Fashion Director, then took Porter's newly created US Fashion Director-at-Large role in 2015.

Editorial ideas meet the winter wardrobe

For a 2010 W Magazine story with Megan Fox, White worked with photographer Craig McDean and styled looks that included Balmain tailoring, Lanvin and Burberry details. In Tiffany's 2020 Style Sessions, she built jewelry stories around characters and different ways to wear a piece.

I translated those cues into four product edits: cold-weather layers, evening texture, jewelry with individuality and easy knitwear. The shapes stay polished while the mix keeps a little unpredictability.

Where I would start with Alex White's style

Start with a strong outer layer, then add a knit with texture. Let one expressive watch or earring bring personality rather than layering every piece at once. The mix feels most White when the finish is confident, personal and a little unexpected.
